#260702-132224-039000 - Back from Eternity Corrections delined contrary to IMDb guidelines.
First, regarding the weight of the plane, my apology for "fat fingering" the selection box for "Adding/Correcting Link" instead of the correct "Adding further information", but the added information explains the text from the IMDb Guidelines that "Factual Mistakes" (aka "Factual errors" in the Guidelines) state "We also make big allowances for artistic license and suspension of disbelief - you might not be able to do that "in real life", but that's why we love watching movies"; also, there are "Unacceptable Goofs" that state: "Nitpicking: It's not the viewer's job to pick apart movies and find fault with them. Allow room for artistic license.", and "Artistic licence: Please allow for artistic licence on the part of the film makers. Most movies and TV shows are not meant to perfectly reflect reality as you experience it." Is there a "submission guideline" I'm unaware of that negates those I've cited?
Regarding the monkey vs. ape item, the IMDb Guidelines for "Factual Mistakes" also state: "We occasionally get submissions from keen-eyed goof spotters who notice that, say, Russian tanks are masquerading as German tanks in war movies, or that deadly coral snakes are being played by harmless milk snakes - these are no more goofs than is the fact that Johnny Depp isn't really an 18th century pirate or that Anthony Hopkins isn't really Richard Nixon." My correction simply points out what this guideline states.
As for the item concerning radar and plane range, it was submitted as a "Miscellaneous" Goof, which indicates the submitter is not familiar with IMDb Guidelines which state that "This category is hardly ever used - if you can't shoehorn your goof into any of the above categories it's probably not a goof." And actually, there really is no Goof identified; the submitter simply discusses the "practicality" of the situation. I added text to explain why, per the Guidelines, the item is not a Goof (e.g., "We also make big allowances for artistic license and suspension of disbelief", "It's not the viewer's job to pick apart movies and find fault with them. Allow room for artistic license.").
Please have your editors (By the way, how does one become a data editor?) reconsider these declined items.
