A denial

Trying to understand why this goof contribution was denied. If anyone's watched the program, it's very obvious they were walking straight towards two machine gun pillboxes silhouetted on top of the crest of a hill and walking right towards them when they were in plain sight. No platoon leader would ever have his men walk straight up to them.
Open to suggestions on how I could change this to make it acceptable?

Are you considering this a g trivia and not a goof?

GOOF ADDITION

At the beginning, Lieutenant Hanley is leading his platoon, walking side-by-side, up the barren hill. At the very top of the hill, on the crest of the apex of the hill or two easily distinguishable German concrete machine gun pill boxes. These would obviously have been seen long before Hanley and his men started out on their walk up the hill towards them and, therefore, any platoon leader, after spotting these two pill boxes, would certainly not have walked his men up the hill straight towards them on a suicide mission, but would have tried to find another tactical way to approach or bypass them.
