GOOF ADDITION

Based on accounts of the Nuremberg trials, there is no widely documented evidence that Rudolf Hess shouted "Sieg Heil" to Hermann Göring upon their first meeting in prison. In fact, the initial interactions between Hess and Göring in Nuremberg were characterized by feigned non-recognition and coldness, rather than an enthusiastic Nazi salute.Upon arriving in Nuremberg, Hess claimed to have total amnesia and pretended not to recognize any of the other Nazi defendants, including Göring. To test this, psychologists arranged for Hess and Göring to meet in a room, which was bugged. During this meeting, Hess stubbornly acted as if he did not know who Göring was, which infuriated Göring. While they were later seated next to each other in court, and often conversed or joked during breaks, the initial prison meeting was marked by tension, not a "Sieg Heil" greeting. It is not an unintentional error. It's an intentional plot point. The film shows Hess claiming not to remember Göring, and Göring points out the way that Hess greeted him.

The goof guidelines include:

In movies "based on real events" we also tend to disallow discrepancies between fact and fiction because these changes are usually made for dramatic reasons. You may wish to submit these differences to the trivia section instead.

I see that it is already listed as trivia.
