Accurate quote submitted and rejected. Why?

I submitted seven lines from A Slap On Titan, went through the closed captioning to make sure it was accurate, and it was rejected because it was, "Badly formatted." What was on the episode was what was in the submission. However, there's a quote with mumbling that is spelled out in the CC. Considering that on the show's main page, it states that the CC had additional humor that isn't actually spoken by the characters, I thought that it was important to make sure to spell everything out. I can submit links for both the video and the creator's page so another party can verify my data.

Hello RandalllFlagg,

Can you post the 18-digits submission reference number? in order to take a look for you!

You can find the submission number in your Contribution History page.

Based on the Quotes guidelines, your submission is baddly formatted. Quotes are usually a single line that stands out from the dialogue. Also we do not allow all upper case written ones. I encourage you to take a look at the guidelines above and you can re submit based on it.

There are about seventeen sections on the Formatting Rules. Which one(s) did I get wrong? According to the closed captioning in the episode, everything is spelled correctly. The all caps in one of the quotes was what it reads in the CC might be in violation, however this is allowed several times in the quotes section of, "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut," as well as other movies and shows. I was also allowed to do this for other episodes of this show, and it was approved. What exactly did I get wrong this time?

@RandalllFlagg Hi-

Just like Fran mention above and in our formating rules section of the quotes guidelines: "Please do not use UPPER CASE to denote shouting (use the stage direction [shouts] instead) or emphasis - please use *asterisks* instead."

I encourage you to make the corrections and re-submit it for our staff to take a look at again. You are also welcome to post the resubmitted contribution here.

Cheers!

I am re-submitting these quotes for the episode with the explanation added to it that reads, "The lines submitted are accurate according the closed captioning provided in the source material by the content creators." I am hoping that the accuracy of quotes submitted is important for the standards of the users of IMDB as well as the administrators of said site. I've been working on helping users with accurate quotes on IMDB since 2006. Considering the painstaking work I do to make sure that they aren't in error, they are hardly ever rejected. If the formatting rules are now to be applied capriciously, the accuracy of submitted quotes for other and all IMDB data might become suspect. I would hope that the staff of IMDB will take this into account.

@RandalllFlagg Hi-

As we have mention, upper case is not allowed as per our policy. To denotate shouting you can use the stage direction or an emphasis.

If you would like to raise a specific use case that would benefit from using all caps in quotes, you are welcome to post a new Idea thread with a policy suggestion for it.

Cheers!
