AKA Name Change Accepted in Some Countries But Not Others?

#260615-164706-842000

The ask here was for "Valerie"/"The Hogan Family" (1986)

This show was originally titled "Valerie" for the first two seasons, then the star (Valerie Harper) left and it was retitled "The Hogan Family" (well, first it was "Valerie's Family: The Hogans" for one season but then was quickly retitled "The Hogan Family" in syndication and for all seasons following). My requested edit was that for all English-language markets that this series display as "The Hogan Family," because that is clearly the name it's best known by even if "Valerie" was the original title. This is supported by Wikipedia and other database entries that all use the later title:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hogan_Family

https://rewindtv.com/title-item/the-hogan-family/

https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/4453-the-hogan-family?language=en-US

My question is why this change was accepted for half of the English markets in the system but rejected in the others. Shouldn't the naming be consistent across all of them? It was even rejected as the display title in the US, the country where all of these title changes originated!
