Alternate titles suddenly gone for TV series "Jul i Svingen"

Because of the current Yuletide season, I had a look at the IMDb entry for the Norwegian TV series "Jul i Svingen".

To my surprise the search for its Dutch release title "Kerst met Linus" yielded no results whatsoever. It turns out that all international alternate titles have been deleted from the database completely!

There were at least Dutch, Swedish and Danish alternate titles.

Yet other AKAs for TV series have remained, like "Schone Schijn" for "Keeping Up Appearances", "Wordt u al geholpen" for "Are You Being Served", "Daar komen de schutters" for "Dad's Army" etc.

For the series' predecessor "Linus i Svingen"  all international titles are still shown.

This is really weird. What could have gone wrong here?

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard_J-

Thank you for reporting! After further investigating, these title AKAs have been resintated. The changes will be live on the site shortly.

Cheers!

Thank you Maya! I see it's been reinstated.

Any idea why this could have happened? I hope it's not vandalism. Does it have something to do with a changed status of the so-called "IMDb display title"? If so, could it have happened to other titles "across the board"?

By the way, I'm not at all sure about the supposed US title of "Christmas in Svingen", but with all the streaming services we now have across the globe, I can imagine that transliterated titles have become common practice as a customer service, even when it's not dubbed or subtitled.

Best regards,

Richard

@Richard_J Your welcome!

In this case, there were deletion requests in which further actions have already been taken.

It's a sad thing that these random requests can pass unnoticed and apparently without suitable verification. I hate to see the dedicated work of many contributors vanish in this way! But at any rate it's good for us to keep on the alert.

Richard
