Solved

An award on my page appears with wrong description

Hello,
An award on my page is wrongly described as "nomination" but truly it is a honorable mention award, not only at the festival site but also on the imdb page for the festival. How can I fix this?

Hi @miko -

Is the award listed on the festival's site as a nomination?

Thanks!

No. It is in the list of "honorable mention".

@miko Hi! In awards people will always show as Winner o Nominee by default as we don't have any other options, but Honorable Mention shows as part of the award in supplementary info.

Cheers!

But even  in the supplementary info it still says Nominee: Honorable Mention. So the conclusion is that it was nominated to Honorable Mention and did not get it, which is definitely untrue. If your default options are only Winner or Nominee then the tiltle should be "Winner" on the home page and "Honorable Mention" in the supplementary info.  Honorable Mention is not a nomination but an award that was won. If you look again at the festival link that I sent you, Honorable Mentions appear under the title "Spring 2011 Festival Winners".

Hello miko,

As Bethanny mentioned in this case, it is listed correctly as a "Nomination" and it cannot be changed. For awards that were not "won", these awards are currently only displayed as Nominations. You can find all of these information in our Awards Help guide.

OK, can you please delete the notification about this "nomination"?

Hi @miko -

The "Nomination" award rank cannot be removed from the listing, as all Honorable Mention awards must be listed under this ranking.  In the meantime, I have highlighted this use case to the appropriate team for visibility and review of future improvements to award listings and display.

Thanks for your understanding.

Michelle, I already got that :) What I am asking is to delete any mention of it from my page.

No nomination, no award, no ranking. I was the one who made the entry for this award and if I knew that it will appear as nomination I would not make the entry.

Thank you for highlighting the issue to the appropriate team.

@Michelle

The "Nomination" award rank cannot be removed from the listing, as all Honorable Mention awards must be listed under this ranking

The previously linked award data guidelines give the example award name "FIPRESCI Award - Honorable Mention". It is clear to me that a winner of such an honorable mention must be listed as rank 1. @miko is exactly right that it would otherwise list the recipient as only a nominee for an honorable mention. Nowhere do the guidelines say that honorable mentions must be treated only as nominations.

On the award page in question, https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0002005/2011/1, the general structure followed is similar: an award name Honorable Mention with categories.

@Peter_pbn

Thaank you so much for being the voice of common sense! But they are not even respecting my wish to remove the weird "nomination" from my page. Do you have any suggestion for me what to do?

@miko Hi-

I have been reviewing this award post and in order to help you, you can submit a correction to this award so that we can take a further look.

Once submitted, you can post below the 18-digit submission reference number.

Cheers!

Hi Maya,
Thank you very much, I really appreciate this.
I am not able to submit a correction directly on my page as IMDb help says that award edits can be made only on IMDb awards.  But the award correctly appears as "honorable mention" in IMDb Awards. The problem is that on my personal IMDb page it appears as a nomination for honorable mention, which is completly wrong. I would like just to erase the word "nomination". Again thank you very much.

@miko Hi-

Your welcome!

Now, to remove the word 'nomination' as you see it on your page and also as it is seen on the Event page is to correct the rank to 'winner' basically as what Peter mentions above. I have done this correction as Honorobale Mention awards can be winners as well.

Important to note, however, this is the only way we can remove the word 'nomination' as you have been trying to do. The winner, nominated, 2nd place, or 3rd place are the only ranks available for Awards. So in this case, let's say, there is not a way to leave the 'rank' field blank which the only way to remove the 'nomination' is to correct it to 'winner.'

I hope I was able to make sense of this above and that this change helped!

Cheers!
