Approved location not showing

On 24 June 2024 I submitted a location addition for John Mellencamp: Pink Houses
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27553780/

Tracking my contributions, that shows as Approved but does not appear under Details as a filming location. (I didn't submit the location in Huntington that does show.) However my contributions for Cast and Director do show. I submitted:

LocationAddition

Masonic Lodge #512 aka Moody's Grocery, Little York, Indiana, USA(10 N STATE ROAD 39 SCOTTSBURG, IN 47170)
IMDB Locations guidelines help says "Please don't over elaborate location descriptions, i.e. use the normal 'in country'/postal definition of the location (but don't include any zip/area code or PO box information)." It goes into detail then says "Therefore, while detailed locations (i.e. Mont Saint-Michel, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France) may be factually correct, we favor the simple versions.)."

This would seem to be a goof on my part in not formatting the location correctly, but "We favor" implies that whatever you put in will show regardless. Am I missing something, and how can I correct it? I don't see a way to edit or delete that submission. Should I just try again? Thanks.

Hello GaryXYZ,

Can you post the 18-digits submission reference number for the contribution? in order to take a look for you!

You can find the submission reference number in your Contribution History page.

Can you clarify what you are referring to? the Filming Location shows in the screengrab that you posted. Is there anything I am missing? Can you clarify?

@Fran yes you're missing everything. As I said in the beginning "I didn't submit the location in Huntington that does show." I also said "I submitted:

Location Addition

Masonic Lodge #512 aka Moody's Grocery, Little York, Indiana, USA (10 N STATE ROAD 39 SCOTTSBURG, IN 47170)"
You then asked me for the "18-digits submission reference number for the contribution", which I replied by providing: 240624-142026-370000
Please note, again, to be overly clear, that those are TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. The one I submitted is NOT showing in the public view. Thank you for your understanding.

@GaryXYZ What is this location exactly?  It appears that this was originally correctly rejected because you provided the actual location as an attribute vs. placing it in the location field.  Please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/filming-locations/GW8UTH98PQD928H4 and specifically:

  • Please fill in details in the attribute field to help us pin-point where in the title the location was is represented, i.e. from Back to the Future (1985):

Location: 1711 Bushnell Avenue, South Pasadena, California, USA
    Attribute: (George McFly's house)

This is why you were seeing warning messages when trying to contribute.  Please submit a correction or explain why what is already listed is correct.

@Bethanny that's great thank you! Not sure why it didn't appear after approved. No, I didn't get warning messages. There are several more locations that need adding but I'll read the Help carefully next time.

Hi @GaryXYZ -

As you submit the additional locations, to ensure they meet the proper formatting guidelines as Col mentioned above, please make sure that your Location submissions include the following:

  • House/Street Number: This is the unique number assigned to each residence or building on the street. For example, in “123 Main St,” "123" is the house number.

  • Street Name: This includes the name of the street, avenue, road, etc. For example, “Main St” is the street name.

  • Unit/Apartment Number (if applicable): If it’s a multi-unit building, the apartment or unit number might come after the street address, such as “Apt 4B” or “Unit 101.”

  • City: The city where the address is located.

  • State/Province: The state or province code or name, depending on the country.

  • Zip/Postal Code: This is the postal code specific to a location. In the US, it’s typically a five-digit number.

  • Country: The country name.

Location attributes should very briefly describe what the location is in the film.  For example, the "Home Alone (1996)" filming location - 671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, Illinois, USA - includes the attribute: (McCallister home), as in this film this was the residence of the fictional family The McCallister's.

I hope this helps!
