Billy Wilder

Billy Wilder won 7 Oscar’s…shouldn’t his info be corrected to reflect this?

One of the seven is an honorary award (Thalberg Award), and I think the honorary awards are not included in the number displayed on the name page. However, it is inconsistent with other features: The count of wins and nominations on the awards subpage does include the honorary awards. The Advanced Name Search filter for Oscar winners includes people who have only won an honorary award (also those who have only won the Thalberg Award). The BAFTA Fellowship is counted as a win on name pages for people such as Warwick Davis.

I'll also add that the Thalberg Award, being in the form of a bust of its namesake, is not officially regarded as an "Oscar", which refers only to the statuettes, but IS considered an Academy Award. This also applies to the various plaques and certificates which have been presented by the Academy. So technically, Wilder won 6 Oscars among his 7 total Academy Awards.

The other honorary awards which use Oscar statuettes are not displayed in the name page summary either. Since last year, the Oscar statuette has also been used for the Thalberg award.
