Birth of a Hat: The Art and Mystery of Making Fur Felt Hats (c.1920)

This film is listed as c. 1920 in Lost & Found: American Treasures from the New Zealand Film Archive.  Both IMDb  and Letterboxd have this as an aka for Making a Stetson (1925). This is problematic for several reasons detailed in the information provided on the disc.  The researcher cited, Jessie Getman, noted that a symbol on the edge of the Kodak print indicates that it was printed in 1920, but may have been made from an earlier negative.  The title, Birth of a Hat: The Art and Mystery of Making Fur Felt Hats, is definitely part of the original material and not added for the DVD presentation.  It is suggested that the film may have been made as early as 1917 or 1918 because of the number of flags on displasy suggesting that it was made during World War I.  The 1925 date is definitely too late accoridng to the information provided by Getman. What is the source of the "Making a Stetson" title (Birth of a Hat was made by Stetson--that's not the issue), and what is the evidence of the release year and that it's the same film as Birth of a Hat: The Art and Mystery of Making Fur Felt Hats?
