BUG REPORT: Ruined contribution because of a merge request
Hi, folks:
I was in the middle of a full audit of the credits for the TV short film Shrek the Halls (2007), correcting roles and attributes as I usually do and, also in this case, carefully separating the names listed in the original TV release from those that appear only in the DVD credits (the film is exactly the same; there aren't two different versions, only the credit titles have changed, so these latter people deserve an uncredited attribute), when I came across a same Sound occupation listed for two people who were actually the same person. Hence, I submitted a merge request.
Until now, when a name merge was approved, it had no effect while editing the other credits in a title page; it only affected the entries involving the two merged names. Furthermore, upon rechecking the form, a message appeared at the top of the relevant section (in this case, “Sound”), warning that changes had been made to that section prior to the recheck and that the data being entered needed to be reviewed, but the ongoing edits were preserved.
The problem is that upon double-checking the form, I found that my merge request had been approved (👍), but, to my surprise (and horror), instead of the usual message, I discovered that the Sound section had been “completely reset” (all entries had reverted to their default “Keep” status - see screenshot below), completely wiping out all the changes I had been working on.

There's no way I can recover my work, so I'll just have to start over (🤬). Fortunately, this occurred while editing a small section of a short film. If this had happened to me while working on a big-budget production—say, halfway through correcting hundreds of names in the Visual Effects department after hours or days of work—Kratos in Spartan rage would look like Gandhi compared to me...
I'm not sure if this was a one-time glitch or a new bug, so I'm reporting it so it can be investigated. Thank you very much.
Cheers!
