Change of name by deed poll
I changed my name by deed poll in the UK from Stuart Heaney to Kimberly Heaney and I want to update my name so that I can correctly attribute credits where I am credited as Kim Heaney (eg on The Last Sacrifice, the actual on-screen credit is to Kim Heaney and not Stuart Heaney), but I want to preserve the existing credits where I was credited under my birth name. I want to do this so that I can show my IMDb credits for future work without causing confusion and so that people will understand that Stuart Heaney is (was) also me.
Please let me know how I can do this. I have submitted a Name Correction request (no reference number for this yet, awaiting response).
Would it be better if I created a new account as Kim Heaney and then submitted a merge request to merge the names (while preserving existing credits)?
Finally, there is something else - there is another Stuart Heaney on IMDb whose credits are appearing as mine and vice versa. I am not the same Stuart Heaney who worked in the electrical department on The Corrs live or French and Saunders. How can these names be separated out? Usually there is a Stuart Heaney (I) and a Stuart Heaney (II), as I recall seeing. I don't know how to go about achieving this.
Thanks so much!
Best, Kim Heaney (FKA Stuart)

Hi Kim_Heaney-
You can submit the name correction through the contribution form following the instructions that are specify. Since in this case you want to preserve the existing credits where you were credited under your birth name, make sure that the "Preserve previous name on existing credits. i.e. '(as Stuart Heaney)" is checked.
As per your second question, if these credits belong to another person with the same name, you can move the credits to another live or new page through the contribution form.
For further detailed instructions, you can review our following Help Guide and look under question #3, 'How can I move credits to another page?' and Approach A.
Cheers!
