concerned

I don't have a question. I have a concern. I think IMDB should be monitoring reviewers more closely. I depend on the ratings to decide if I can watch something. I have some panic triggers. So many ratings are inaccurate, full of the reviewers personal thoughts, opinions, beliefs, etc. Honestly, I can't read the ratings anymore because I just get angry and have no more idea if a movie is suitable than before I read the ratings.

Hi MAUISURFPUP1- Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database. For additional information about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our FAQ here: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/ratings-faq/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV Cheers!

Maya, I don't think you understood my comment. I'm saying the people who do the parent's guide ratings are including too much of their own personal opinions. Instead of simply saying, "strong sexual content," and adding a to-the-point, "contains a rape scene," they're adding personal notions, like, "many viewers will be disturbed," or "this will upset many viewers." I don't want anyone's opinion or embellishments.
