Contributions Constantly Declined - Film Distribution in jeopardy

Hoping some veterans here can help a newbie.

Post-Production is nigh on complete for my first film. We are looking forward to a 2026 release. Except for the fact that, 3 years ago, when asked at a press conference when I was hoping to release the movie, I naively said February 2024 (considering a hopeful Valentines Day release for a Romantic Comedy). Boy, did I underestimate post-production. Fast forward - running out of money, post production delays, etc., it is now 2026 and the film is finally finished. However, due to a newspaper article summarizing my comment, IMDB has taken that as gospel and listed my film as released in 2024. No amount of explanation has them take my word over some journalist's article.

How can I convince them of the problem and have it removed?

While I am at it, I entered a budget figure - no where near the actual budget.  As I attempt to remove it, same issue. Request declined. There is no 3rd party evidence of such a ridiculous figure and, although I explain, it is still left as is.

How should I move forward as I am nigh on approaching distributors and I don't want this erroneous information attached to my film.

Hi MatthewThorne-

In order for our staff to review, can you post the 18-digit submission reference numbers for these contributions?

Cheers!

That's great Maya. Our post-production team will be real pleased. I look forward to refreshing the page and checking later.
