Credit Correction Appeal - Ref # 260227-155418-139000

Hello IMDb Team, I am the Director and Producer of the title The Visit (tt3802224). I am trying to correct a 2014 credit for 'Assistant Director' which is a misattribution. The individual currently listed (Gandhi, Shayar) is not the correct person for this credit.

I have tried to correct the name to 'Smithee, Alan (I)' via the edit form (Ref # 260227-155418-139000), but it keeps getting rejected as 'Unable to Verify.'

As the creator and copyright holder, I have set the film to Private and it is no longer in distribution. Therefore, there is no public link to 'verify' the error. I am requesting an employee manual override to move this credit to the Alan Smithee pseudonym to resolve this professional misattribution. Thank you.

Sorry, if Shayar Gandhi was credited on screen with his name when the film was released (as is the case), it cannot be changed to Alan Smithee a posteriori.

Hi ljdoncel, To clarify, the 2014 listing contains a legacy data entry error from a bulk upload. As the Director and Producer of the project, I am the only one with access to the production records. Since the film was pulled from distribution years ago and is no longer public, the current digital listing is a misattribution that I am trying to rectify. I am requesting the correction to Smithee, Alan (I) to ensure the database accurately reflects the professional identities associated with this title.

IMDb pages list credits according to the on-screen titles of the first public release. If Shayar Gandhi's name appeared when you uploaded the film to YouTube (which is verifiable), then it must stay in the database, regardless of whether the film is no longer available.
