Credit Deletion of a Wrong Person

I am trying for weeks already to erase the co-writing credit of a person that has been listed as a writer in one of our projects and it keeps being denied. I have mentioned that the person has never been involved in the project, has no contract and has never been credited (opening or end credits). For that reason I have even submitted the entire film so the IMDb team can see that. I as well asked the IMDb team to check when this person has been added, as most likely it was not added in the first 5 years after the movie was released - as it is self-explanatory that a writer would have been added from the very beginning.

So this person was either added fraudulently or belongs to another project and by mistake was added to ours. It is very interesting how it sounds that IMDb wants to have the most accurate information but keeps denying (with the same automated message) to erase the name of a person that has nothing to do with a project.

Hi Maya,

Thank you very much for your help.

I don't know if this should be addressed here, but the same person is listed in another film of ours - again, no contracts, no credits and same I am sure she was not added earlier than the first 5 years which should be suspicious, especially for a writer.

I got the same automatic message denying the request. The person has nothing to do with this project.

If you think that is ok to take a look I leave bellow the film link and the 18 digit submission reference number:

Film IMDb link: https://pro.imdb.com/title/tt1874785/?ref_=nm_filmo_pastfilmvid_13

Reference #: 241127-214853-867000

If I should create a new message chain please let me know.

Thank you for your help and assistance.

Hello,

I am coming back with another submission #250210-033131-919000 in regards to a credit listed prior all agreements are signed. That is taking a while already so for that reason we all agreed to have the credit erased until all is signed, clear and ironed.

Thank you and I will be standing by for any questions you might have.

@vf01 Hi-

Thank you for posting the submission reference! Taking a look, the reason why it was declilned is because of the lack of supporting evidence.

You are welcome to re-submit it with supporting evidence and our editors will take a further look.

For further information, you can review our following Help Guide.

Cheers!

Hi Maya,

Thank you for your quick answer. I am not able to provide other evidences as there is no contract (the only one that could somehow show my involvement). If you could tell me what other evidences I can provide, I will do it.

Additionally, the film it's not finished, there are no opening or ending credits created so I am not appearing in any way on the film. As well the contract are somehow stoped due to the fact that this is a Chinese production and due to their requirements.

It's basically a similar issue to the one you helped me a while ago.

Thank you and I will stand by for your answer.

Hi Maya,

Can you please help me with this.

I explained in my submissions extremely detailed the issue but somehow the answer comes back with the same automated content, because I can not imagine that somebody went over everything I wrote and claims that is not enough evidence or can not be verified. I am the person in question with the non-existing contract - basically I do not exist in that project. There is nothing I can provide more to prove that I am not involved with the project other than a detailed explanation. There is no agreement, no communication regarding a possible agreement, no credit on the film. So when I am told that the credit is a factual information, I, the person in question, tell you that the fact that I was added on IMDB before any agreements could be signed doesn't make me part of that project. I actually take this time to make things right and clear so people with no connection to the film to be listed.

Thank you,

Vlad

Hi Maya,

I totally understand and that is my aim as well. But how is keeping the data complete if the information on a certain project is not true or accurate and when trying to fix it we face such a hard time to do it. In all honesty, I explained the reality of the situation regarding the agreements and the true participation of myself in this particular project. If IMDB is ok to have people listed / attached to projects without any truth behind I am ok with it. If you check you will see that the person who created this project listing is me, so obviously I have no intention to alter in any way the accuracy of the project, but when I stated multiple times that I, am not part of the project at this time with no agreement signed and the listing raises issues with the production, I don't know what other evidences can I provide. But as a active member of this community I tell you that this is extremely disarming and frustrating to continue add information to the platform. If you recall, I only reach out through the community forum when I encounter these type of obstacles, and last time there was a person listed to a project that has never ever been in contact with us and it took over 2 months to get the issue resolved.  So my question is, why is it so hard to make adjustments in order to have the most accurate database?

Perfect. I don't know how that can be considered correct / factual after everything I explained. But, great. Thanks
