Credit name fix - Cast Addition

Hi, whenever I go to add a cast member to a project (actor currently without IMDB) I receive a message saying;

The following fixes have been applied automatically.

• The name 'George Lockton' has been converted to 'Lockton, George'

This is an example name but I'm concerned the credit/IMDB profile will be created with the surname appearing first - is this true? Why is this automatic fix happening? Thank you
