Declined release date from Spain

Hello

260622-182449-358000

I can't correct the date, because "Does not meet contribution guidelines"

Actually, this episode never aired on cable television in 1990. It's a misconception in Spain, because it did air on Canal Plus France. The truth is, the series premiered in Spain in January 1991 on TVE and later on the dame year on TV2, and it didn't start with this episode. The episodes were broadcast out of order, with 01x13 being the first one aired. The date of this episode is April 10, 1991 at 23:00 on TV2

This last link contains an article that says: También una falsa teoría urbana asegura que Canal Plus estrenó la serie en España, cuando en realidad no emitió un solo capítulo. El error se debe a que Canal Plus sí la emitió en Francia.

Wow! Memory unlocked. Maya has already approved the correction, but I just want to confirm the info with my own personal memory. I was 13 at the time, and we were all eagerly awaiting the premiere of The Simpsons —there was so much hype—because it had been promoted in Spain as "the first adult cartoon series," and all the kids in my group wanted to find out why. My parents worked nights on the weekends, so that Sunday I was able to watch the episode, which, indeed (I truly swear), wasn’t "Sin blanca navidad" (Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire) but "La babysitter ataca de nuevo" (Some Enchanted Evening). 35 years later, I still vividly remember that night and the babysitter’s face... 😯
