Difficulty changing default release year for TV documentary

I am trying to correct the release date on the title for a documentary on bugs. I tried changing the title of the page, but it won't let me since it says that the new year has to match the old incorrect year. I do not know if I'm doing something wrong here but help would be appreciated! Reference number: 251115-050114-450200

As the error message in the title correction form suggests, you should submit or correct the release date in the release date section.

Hey Peter I appreciate you giving me an answer, but this does not answer my question. I did put the correct year in (2004), and the page itself still claims that the documentary came out in 2009. That is why I tried to correct the title page, assuming it would solve the problem.

Hello TheKingOfFrogs As mentioned by Peter_pbn, what you have to submit is a correction in the Release Date section, keep on mind that you will need evidence for us to verify the correction is right and factual. https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/release-dates/GVUUDEPJNAW6G35P?ref_=helpsrall#

I already tried adding the older release date in a previous edit. The problem is that the release date that came before it, is listed as an additional release date instead of the official release date. The official release date is given to a release on home video. With other edits I’ve changed involving the release date/copyright year, the year is automatically changed to have the older year. That did not happen here. What should I do about that? I’m at work right now so I’ll do it when I get home. I’m very confused about this.

Okay so I might be stupid. Honestly, I'll just change the release date and get rid of the Blu-Ray premiere edit. By the way, should I keep something like that listed or not?

@TheKingOfFrogs- If this documentary had a blu-ray release the information should be kept. However, if this information is incorrect, you can submit the respective correction/deletion.

My edit has been declined because it couldn't verify the information. I can verify the information is correct as I provided a screenshot from a newspaper listing (either that or the copyright year at the end).

Okay so I noticed that even though the release dates have been corrected, the title page still claims it came out in 2009. Is it still in the process of changing?
