Director´s credit

This might be a nit pick but it´s something that has bothered me. Whenever I look up a director on the app or on the web I´m looking for his/her list of directed movies. The first thing that pops up however is that person´s credit list as a producer. I then have to click the word director twice to see the directors list (or scroll on the app). For a person people mostly think of as directors that should be the default thing you see. I may be wrong but I don´t think many people care about what films certain people produced. It´s such an easy thing to fix.

Hi Oskar_orn,

Please refer to our Filmography FAQ as to the ordering of a person's credits on their IMDb page:

Whenever a person's filmography is displayed, the order of the categories is based on the number of credits in each category. For example if someone has:

  • 2 credits as director
  • 5 credits as cinematographer
  • 1 as producer

their listing will display in the order:

  1. Cinematographer
  2. Directing credits
  3. Producing credits

Episodes are counted individually

Because episode credits are also factored in, it may appear like a smaller category is listed first. Double check that the person is listed on the exact episodes of a television show that they worked on, in order to ensure the correct ordering.

Exclusions

"Self", "Thanks", and "Archive footage" credits will always appear as the last categories on the page, regardless of the number of entries.

This order isn't meant to imply anything about the relative importance of the various credits. It's just a technical convention. This is a software-dictated function which applies to all filmographies in IMDb.(...)

I hope this helps!

Thank you. I understand how this is good technical solution to the problem but the result is still showing users something they are not looking for. If I look up Steven Spielberg I'm looking for movies he directed, no one cares who produced what. Anyway, I know this won't get changed, just wanted to put this out there.
