Does this count a 'narrator'?

I was watching a docu-drama type film, and there are two characters that are also credited 'narrator'. The first introduces himself by his character name at the beginning of a segment and then narrates much of it (as the character). I didn't see him appear during the segment. The second character credited as 'narrator' introduces himself by his character name at the beginning of a segment, appears in the segment as that character, and then narrates it as well (as the character). In this case, he appears in the segment as that character. Their names appear in the credits of the film but only as 'features' with no character name or attribute beside their names. It doesn't sound right to list them as narrators, especially the second one. Are they narrators?

Hello JC46 As mentioned in our Cast/Acting credits guidelines (https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/cast-acting-credits-guidelines/GH3JZC74FVYKKFMD?ref_=helpart_nav_5#): "Depending on the type of work performed, or how the person was credited - voice performances can be credited in the database as either: Cast Other Crew Not at all" The narrator credit is not valid in this case.

Thank you for clarifying that. However, I looked at the "voice credits" part of the guidelines and I couldn't find that part that says that the narrator credit would not be valid in this case. Can you let me know where that is so I can reference it in the future? Thanks

@JC46- That's the section but their credits have to refelct how they were credited on-screen. If they were not credited as narrators as you explained above, they should not be listed as such.
