Double credits

Hey!

On my IMDB page under directed by I have a Short film called (Because One day)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10485062/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_cred_t_5

I submitted to a film festival and now I have a second credit under (Canadian film festival) for the same film. The festival simply showed my film, but now I have a directed by credit for the festival which I had no part in creating, assisting or doing anything at all.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12235964/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_cred_c_4

I've tried to remove this credit countless times but it just remains there.

Any help?

Hi @ArefMahabadi -

This is an interesting situation, typically when a released film re-airs as an episode under a series banner, we list that title as a 'shell episode' (which means that we would not list any credits on the page to prevent duplication).  In this case, it appears that your short film re-aired within an episode among several other short titles, and your credit was listed as a 'segment'.

I have reached out to the appropriate team to confirm if this situation should also be treated as a "shell", once I confirm I will follow-up here with the details.

Hi @ArefMahabadi -

My apologies for the delay.  I reviewed this with the team but to determine the best course of action, we need to better understand the eligibility of this series title and what this series actually entails.

- Can you confirm if this was streamed as part of the Canadian Film Festival where the titles are nominated for awards?  Is the "Canadian Film Fest Presented by Super Channel" released as a series banner or is the Network ('Super Channel"  just airing footage?

- Is this an anthology series and has some unique footage/episodes with the film (no modifications or unique footage in the actual episode)?

- Does this series have some unique footage/episodes with the film released as a part of the episode that contained unique footage/edits and just happened to include part of the film or the film in full?

Hi!

From my understanding because this was during Covid, Super Channel aired the films online since the festival couldn't be held in person.

There was no change in the film, literally 0, it was not attached to any film nor part of a grouping of collective narrations that had a similar theme. This was a short doc I made independently and submitted to this festival like I would any other. I didn't even watch the rest of the films at the festival ...lol

Also, just to add, it was premiered live and never was on Super Channel as a way to consume outside of the 12 minute window for my film during the live event.

Hi @ArefMahabadi -

Thanks for the information.  It appears the series title Canadian Film Fest Presented by Super Channel is not eligible to be listed as a series.  I have now removed this series title and the credit will also be removed from your page shortly.

As your title screened as part of this festival, you can list the Release Date on your title for the festival.

I hope this helps!
