Duplicated show entry

I was production manager on a 1987 BBC TV show and added it to IMDB under the working title 'ICA 40th Birthday Benefit'. I have since discovered it was already entered under another title '40 Years at the ICA' which I assume was the broadcast title. I have submitted my credit, and that of another performer (Ian Smith), on this page. It would probably best to delete my addition titled 'ICA 40th Birthday Benefit'.  Is this the best place to notify the appropriate IMDB department of this duplication? If not how should I do that?

Hi @RPJ -

Can you link the page that has to be deleted?

Thanks!

I have tried to add my role and that of an artist (Ian Smith) missing from the page to '40 years at the I.C.A.' but have been told that my edits do not meet contribution guidelines. The Contribution submissions guide page is more than substantial...

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/submission-guides-a-z/GWBAHK9SAMVR3DP5#

...and I have no idea what part of my edit does not comply. Is there a way to find out what is wrong with my submission and what it is I need to correct, add or clarify?

Thanks.

@RPJ Hi! I can actually see the credit for Ian Smith was approved and live on the site.

Cheers!

Thanks Bethany, but I think there may have been a comms breakdown. There are two entries for the BBC program about the ICA 40th event. One is called 'Forty Years at the I.C.A' and the other is 'ICA 40th Birthday Benefit' These are the same show. It was filmed on one night and edited as first and second half. These two halves were broadcast over two nights, so it is recorded as two episodes. I was production manager for the whole show, i.e both episodes. I tried to add myself to 'Forty Years at the I.C.A' but was told that my edits 'do not meet contribution guidelines'. And my entry which was on the 'ICA 40th Birthday Benefit' page have disappeared from. I don't mind which page I am on but would like to be in one of them (or both) Confused? You bet... Can you help me sort this out? Many thanks. R.

Hello RPJ,

In this case a Title merge has to be submitted using the online Update Form, you can find instructions and help in our Help Articles.

Now I can see a credit for Ian Smith under ICA 40th Birthday Benefit, once the merge has been submitted the credit will move to the page along with the information.

Thanks Fran, will merge the two and then try adding my credit again.
