Editing Reviews

A few weeks ago, I tried to edit reviews I previously submitted that are about "Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown" and "Bob the Builder." I clicked the three dots on the bottom of both reviews, but the "edit" option didn't pop up; only "Facebook," "Twitter," "Email link," "Copy link," and "Report" appeared. I was on the review section of my IMDb page when I tried to edit them, and I assumed maybe I would be able to edit them if I were to go on the pages for Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown and Bob the Builder and click the dots again. I went on both pages, but that didn't make any difference. I also tried to edit them again a few times since those attempts, but that made no difference either. I clicked on the dots on the bottoms of several other reviews I submitted previously just to see if I could edit them in the future if I wanted to. The edit option appeared on some, but it was absent on others for some reason. There are a couple other reviews I tried to edit, such as ones I did on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Pajanimals, but the edit button was absent from them too. How is it possible for me to edit some reviews but not others? Why won't some reviews let me edit them? You may or may not know that I constantly edit my previously-submitted reviews. There are several reasons why I do that: 1) To correct typos I didn't know I made until days, weeks, months, or years after submitting them, 2) To go further in-depth about why I feel the way I do about the titles I review, 3) So I can include anything I forgot to include when I originally wrote them, and 4) To address interesting points that others have brought up about the subjects that I didn't think about before. My inability to edit some of my reviews is preventing me from doing those things.

Hi Maya! Sorry it took so long to respond. I kept forgetting about your comment. I only have one IMDb account, and I was signed into it during all of my attempts at editing reviews. I was also signed into it the entire time I clicked on the three dots on the bottom of all my reviews just to see if I could edit them in the future if I wanted to; I clicked on all of them on the same day and didn't do anything else in between. I looked at the help guide, and I already knew most of what it said. It was no help at all. A few days ago, I signed out of my account for the first time in months and took a break from IMDb for a while. I did this to see if that would make any difference. I signed back in today, and that made little to no difference. The "edit" option appeared on a few of the reviews it was absent from previously, but the "edit" and "delete" options were still absent from most of those same reviews. I also tried to delete my Regular Show review twice, but the "edit" and "delete" options were absent from it both times. I was signed into my account both times. I have no idea why the "edit" and "delete" options are present in some of my reviews but not others. I don't know what else to do. Do you have any other suggestions for me? Is there anything that you or any other IMDb employees can do?

In order for us to gather further information, can you post your profile/activity page, can you also tell us if you are using the app or the web browser (if so which one), which device are you using (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop...)? Have you tried on different devices, if so which ones? Is it the same outcome in all?

I'm no longer having this problem. Now the "edit" and "delete" buttons are present whenever I click on the three dots on the bottom of all of my reviews; now I can edit all of them at any time. If I have this problem again, I'll let you know.
