Festival awards order

Dear IMDb Customer Support, My name is Philip Velikov, Festival Coordinator of IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival. I am writing to inquire about modifying the arrangement of awards on our event page (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0004283/2024/1/). As an Oscar-qualifying festival, we are required to adhere to the Academy’s guidelines, ensuring that our Oscar-qualifying categories are prominently featured and not obscured by less critical awards. Currently, the ordering of awards and categories varies from year to year. For example, in 2024 the sequence begins with the Jury Prize Award, followed by the categories: Best Bulgarian Fiction Film, Best Feature, Best International Short, etc., while in 2023 the Jury Prize starts with Best Feature, Best Animation, and so on. We seek to establish a uniform order for awards and ensure that the correct award titles are consistently applied across all editions. Could you please assist us in updating the arrangement so that every year and edition follows the configuration outlined below? Jury Prize Best Fiction Film (currently listed as Best International Short Film). Best Animation Film (currently listed as Best Animation) Best Documentary Film (currently listed as Best International Short Documentary) Best National Film (currently listed as Best Bulgarian Fiction Film, which is incorrect, as it includes all types of cinema from bulgarian creators) Best Experimental Film Best Mid-Length Film Best Full-Length Film (currently listed as Best Feature Film) Best TV Series Best Music Video Silver Princess (where applicable; please note that this award has now been incorporated into the Jury Prize, although it should still appear in previous editions). Best Fiction Film Best Animation Film Best Documentary Film Best National Film Best Experimental Film Best Mid-Length Film Best Full-Length Film Best TV Series Best Music Video Student Competition Award Best Student Fiction Film Best Student Animation Film Best Student Documentary FIlm Best Student Experimental Film Jury Special Mention (Identical with the award "Special Mention" should replace it wherever applicable). Best Fiction Film Best Animation Film Best Documentary Film Best National Film Best Experimental Film Best Mid-Length Film Best Full-Length Film Best TV Series Best Music Video If possible, we kindly request that the standardized order of awards and categories, along with the correct category titles as specified in this email, be applied uniformly across all editions and submissions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Philip Velikov

Hi FilipVelikov- The Awards order are automatically displayed in alphabetical order and cannot be manually changed. However, we have moved this post to an "Idea" so that other community members can vote on this request to make these order changes on Event pages and this way our staff can be able to track interest. Cheers!

Maya: I have seen discussions like this before. Actually, it is possible for the IMDb staff to adjust the order of the awards on an Award Event page. See the discussion at https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/adjusting-the-order-of-films-in-an-event-listing/64708e985dbf510a3f24be5e . For example, for the Academy Awards, USA (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000003/2025/1/), Best Picture is listed first. For the Berlin Film Festival (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000091/2025/1/), the Golden Bear for Best Film is listed first. For the Cannes Film Festival (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000147/2024/1/), the Palme d'Or is listed first. So it must be possible for the staff to prioritize the awards so that the most important one comes first.
