Got confused with the release and my requests to delete the release date are denied

Hello! So I wanted to register a short animated film we made with my classmates and put that it was completed en has been realeased at school. My teacher saw it and told me to delete the release date since it could mess up our applications for festivals and that our short has actually not been released. I made two request to delete the release date but got denied. Do you have a solution pretty please??
