group/band sexual identity definition

When creating an account for a group or band which is made up of members of both sexes, is there a way to give them the identity "Themselves" rather than male or female?

When there are more of one gender it's sort of easy to choose one but if there are equal numbers of sexes, do you just choose one and go with it?

Leyland: For the last couple of years, whenever one submits a "Self" credit, one is supposed to enter it as "Self" rather than entering "Himself" or "Herself" or "Themselves".

Where on IMDb does it come up that you would have to enter the gender of the band at all?

@gromit82 I could be doing it wrong all this time but I have created a few of accounts for a band or a choir and each time I was asked to select a gender.

If there is a better way, can someone please explain to me how to create a group account without the need to select the gender, that will still allow them to be added as a guest?

Thanks

Leyland: Do you mean indicating "actor" or "actress" with the buttons below the person's name?

If so, I don't know if there is a definite answer, but after the group has been listed in the database, I would recommend submitting a correction to their gender identity to make it "other". See https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/contribution-of-gender-identity/GXYFQEUT9TWEAK62# regarding that option.

I have just tested this by submitting a correction to the page for ABBA to indicate "other" in that they are a mixed group consisting of two men and two women. (They were previously listed as "male", although I don't know if that displayed anywhere on IMDb.)

@gromit82 Yes, it was the "actor/actress" bit when I was creating new name accounts.

Thanks for the link. I tried to change a choir to "other" but I got a pink warning box, I had to attached a screen grab of the group singing to show it was a mixed group, hopefully this will be enough to accept the change to "other"

@gromit82

For the last couple of years, whenever one submits a "Self" credit, one is supposed to enter it as "Self" rather than entering "Himself" or "Herself" or "Themselves".

Still "Themselves" for groups, according to the guidelines.
