Help Needed: released films marked Upcoming, missing 2027 year, declined corrections/merge

I’m looking for staff assistance with several related IMDb data issues affecting filmmaker Nima Sarvestani’s filmography. I have followed the contribution process and supplied supporting evidence, but at this point the normal submission route is producing contradictory results.

1. Historical films are incorrectly appearing as “Upcoming”

I recently submitted several previously missing historical titles. The title submissions were approved:

• Masoud (1998) — #260818-131000-705000
• The Viscous Circle (1998) — #260818-133006-480000
• The Sharp Pencil (1995) — #260818-134903-574000
• Shame (1993) — #260818-141222-461000

All four are now live on IMDb with their historical years, but they are currently grouped under Upcoming on Nima Sarvestani’s filmography.

For example, The Viscous Circle already has an IMDb Release Date entry of Sweden — 1998 — (unknown), so it is not an unreleased production. Gäst hos den döde mannen (2004), which was also recently created, is correctly appearing under Previous.

Could an IMDb staff member please check why these historical titles are being classified as Upcoming and correct the status if necessary?

2. Genuine upcoming project has no projected year

The Box of Memory was submitted as an upcoming documentary project:

Submission: #260817-132822-646000

The title itself was approved for publication and most of the submitted data was approved. The project is publicly documented as having a planned 2027 release, but the resulting IMDb title currently displays no year (????). The Production Status addition “Announced” was declined as “Unable to verify.”

The submission included industry evidence from Nordisk Panorama/Cineuropa and the production information identifies the planned 2027 release.

Could staff please advise how the projected 2027 year should be added to this genuinely upcoming title, and why the Announced status was declined?

3. Incorrect No Burqas Behind Bars credits repeatedly declined for deletion

Nima Sarvestani’s name page currently displays several credits under Music Department, Editorial Department, Production Management and Sound Department which actually name other crew members.

Most recent submission: #260817-163729-690000
Previous attempt: #260816-130653-717000

These corrections were declined as “Unable to verify.”

I contacted IMDb Customer Service about this. Their response stated that a Google search result had been supplied as evidence. I have replied to clarify that the URL in the contribution was unfortunately wrapped in a Google redirect, but the underlying evidence was the official NimaFilm title-specific page, not a Google search result. I have also supplied independent IDFA evidence identifying the relevant crew.

I am not asking IMDb to delete legitimate crew credits from the film. I am asking for credits belonging to other named crew members to stop appearing as credits on Nima Sarvestani’s personal filmography.

4. Those Who Said No duplicate titles cannot be merged because the years differ

IMDb currently has two records for the same film:

• Those Who Said No (2014) — tt4528606
• Those Who Said No (2015) — tt4885216

The official IDFA record confirms the film as a 2014 World Premiere / IDFA 2014 title.

I attempted to correct the erroneous 2015 release information first:

#260816-105345-563000

That correction was declined.

I cannot then follow IMDb’s normal Title Correction merge procedure because the merge form rejects the correction when the destination title is 2014 and the duplicate is still 2015.

Customer Service’s response appears to have misunderstood this as a request to merge name pages and sent instructions for name-page merging. I have replied explaining that this concerns two duplicate title pages.

Could a staff member please either correct the duplicate title’s year/release information so the standard title merge can proceed, or manually review the two title records?

I am happy to provide direct source links and submission evidence again. I am posting here because repeated resubmission is not resolving the underlying issues and I would appreciate a staff review of the actual records rather than another automated request to resubmit the same corrections.
