How do you react when someone else adds your project?

Not my first time producing, but first time working with a team of professionals to create a film for a festival whose deadline is coming up. I didn't want to add it to IMDb until I was sure that we were going to turn it in, but came online yesterday to find out someone had added my film with minimal credits, and had some of them wrong. And worse, since I figured I had no choice but to build off this new existing profile, the new cast credits went through, with emails confirming the submissions, but the very important crew updates didn't result in an email telling me that they'd been submitted (although they must have been, because a second attempt was rejected as a duplicate). My instinct was to ask support to delete it, since I don't know who did it - anyone who is on the project knows who the proper department heads are. I was really excited about entering it myself, and feel very deflated about the situation. What would you have done?

(I don't want to chew anyone out about it, since it might be someone who still has work to do on it...)

Hi karen_voels_id1aam0ehi99c-

Title pages on IMDb can be created by anyone submitting credit or title information to the site through our online Update form, therefore, anyone can contribute to any page or title on the site.

You are welcome to take a look at this following Help Guide for more detailed information.

However, when you spot any mistakes int the data, you are also welcome to submit the corrections through the online Update form. For further information, you can take a look at this other Help Guide.

Cheers!

Thank you. I'm very aware of how it works. I'm wondering more about other users' emotional response to having this privilege taken by someone else, and how they would be inclined to respond, especially given that this is your project's first visibility on the database, and you didn't get to ensure it looked as good and as complete (and correct) as possible.

It's also a little bothersome that I didn't get email confirmations for the crew corrections I submitted (only got them for the cast additions), and I'm having trouble finding them to check their status. It's weird additional stress I don't need.

Any submitted credits will be in the Contribution History

You would probably not have got far trying to delete the project if it is in fact in production, so correcting any errors is the right approach.
