How to Get Keyword Categories Re-Classified
Recently, IMDB has added keyword categories, and I have been helping re-classify entries. Most often I am moving items from Plot Detail to Other or Plot Timeline when the keyword is clearly not a plot detail.
About 20% of the time, the approvers decline my update with a response that appears as if I were *adding* the keyword, not correcting the classification. This will happen on the exact same keyword that is approved elsewhere sometimes. For example, I recently tried to update a keyword "1980s" from Plot Detail to Plot Timeline. It was rejected with the response "we cannot confirm this submission". What's to confirm - it already exists. I am just suggesting that if it exists, it is not a Plot Detail.
I cannot seem to find anywhere to add comments anymore on the initial request, and the film did not appear in my contributor list to edit/re-submit. Any suggestions for how to add comments to explain I am not adding the keyword, just changing its category? I use the elipses on the keyword form to create the request. Thanks!

Strange that there is no comment field when you use the edit feature next to each keyword on the keyword page. There is a comment field in the other available edit links.
I guess category changes can sometimes be wrong, though, so they need to be able to be declined.

I found how to do it! Do not use the elipses on the keyword page. Use the "edit" next to storyline on the main page. You are able to enter comments there. Thanks for pushing me to keep hunting.
