How to remove a non-official poster marked as official?

Hello,

I have a question regarding country-specific posters on IMDb. There is a title that does not have an official theatrical or distributor poster. Instead, a user uploaded their own image and marked it as the official poster.

The issue is that IMDb’s rules clearly state that posters must be official only. However, even after contacting support, my request to remove this image was denied, with the response citing those same rules. This creates a paradox: a non-official poster remains in place, even though it violates IMDb’s own policy.

I would like to know:

  • Is there any mechanism to remove such posters if they don’t meet the requirements?
  • How can one properly argue a removal request so that support takes it into consideration?
  • Are there examples of successful removals of non-official posters in similar cases?

I’d appreciate any advice or shared experiences.

Hello midwrecker

You can submit the request to remove/modify the poster, if the poster is incorrect you can add the right one and request to change the actual one, or you can report the incorrect Poster too.

You can find help and instructions in our Help Articles.
