IMDB cant take Persian characters???

When creating a new title on IMDB, adding an alternate title gives you the option for a Persian alternate name. Since the film is partially in Persian, I tried to add the Persian name of the film, only to find out IMDB wont accept it because Farsi is "not compatible" with their system. Isn't this so ridiculous? Why give me the option to put in the Persian name if you cant take the damn characters? Makes no sense. For fun, I tried putting Chinese characters in under the Chinese alternate title, and it works. Why is still even a thing?
