Issue Adding Credits

Hi, I am a development executive who worked in a myriad of roles as a Head of Development, VP of Development, and Manager of Development. Unfortunately, like many development executives, my name is not listed in the end credits of series and documentaries that I contributed to producing.

IMDB has recognized that I worked at the companies that I added to my profile, and IMDB recognized that I was 'Head of Development' for some of my requested credit additions, but declines my requests to add more titles to my credits, even though some of these credits happened at the same time and for the same production company as my other approved credits.

Unfortunately IMDB rejects the request and simply tells me to review the submission guidelines without any further explanation. But there is no consistency in these guidelines, so without further assistance I can't identify what the actual issue is.

Is there anyone who can help?

Thank you
Garret

Hello GarretGreco,

Can you help us posting the 18-digits submission reference number for the rejections? to take a look for you!

You can find your submission history in your Contribution History page.

You are adding episodic credits and you are adding the credits to the main TV Series page, which is not allowed. In this case, you have to add the credits directly to the episodes that you are credited on, if you are not credited remember to add the "uncredited". In addition, no evidence is attached to the submissions, these are the reasons for the rejections.

You can re submit the credits correctly using the online Update Form, I encourage you to take a look at our Help Articles

Fran, I, like most development executives am uncredited and don't have any of the following per IMDB's verification methods:

- Third party news articles (only a handful of EP's get named in these)

- Screen grabs of end credits (I'm uncredited)

- Call Sheets (I wasn't involved in the production so this is irrelevant)

- Receipts (N/A)

- Link to title on streaming platform (I can send you this but these titles are accessible on major streamers so I don't see how this provides verification)

- Pay Stubs (All payments were digital and don't say the name of the shows anyways)

- Contracts (My contract doesn't say anything about the specific projects. Also being under NDA I can't provide contract details to a third party)

Can you please advise?

The credits will most likely be rejected without a proof of evidence, it is necessary to help us confirm and verify that the credits are factual.

Yes Fran I understand that, but what can be done about the predicament I'm in? I've worked as a development exec for over 10 years at 4 different major companies and I'm sure I'm not the only development producer who has this problem. Can an alternative source of proof be provided? Can I provide a written letter from the owner of the production company? Or can I send phone numbers of production companies for your team to call, etc.? Should I just send a paystub, even though there is no reference of the show?

Throughout my career I've gained employment based on my past credits, so this information is verifiable, but not by the verification methods IMDB uses.

Paystubs can be one of the evidence you can submit, however we do not do phone support and we do not consider a letter as good evidence. You can re submit your credits with the paystubs or Call Sheets, Contracts.
