Hi, @Michelle. This thread is not solved yet. The political divisions at the time before December 1991 was Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, one of 15 republics of the Soviet Union. So, according to the IMDb guidelines we should use: Kyiv, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union [now Kyiv, Ukraine]. Київ (Kyiv) has always been the name of this city. When in Soviet Union, it was also Київ (Kyiv).
