Missing Projects

Hello,

How can I find out who keeps removing my projects.  It is not me or my production team.  It's there a way to lock our productions so only approved team members can edit them.  Random people should not be able to edit projects they are not a part of.

Hi tempast_wulf,

The information in IMDb comes from various sources. Most of it is either researched by our staff or submitted by our users. For more information, please visit our Help guide.

Even if we could track down who sent a specific piece of data, it is our policy not to disclose contact details or any other information about our users and contributors.

If you could provide us with more details around the projects that you're referring to, and the IMDb page they're being removed from, we could look into this for you.

Cheers!

Dear IMDbPro Support Team,

I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding the integrity and security of project listings associated with my company on IMDb.

It has come to my attention that unauthorised individuals are able to alter project information without my consent or approval. This lack of access control presents a significant vulnerability within your platform, allowing third parties—potentially with malicious intent—to modify, misrepresent, or damage the accuracy of professional project records.

Such actions are not merely inconvenient; they have direct and measurable consequences. The unauthorised alteration of project data can mislead collaborators, investors, and audiences, thereby causing reputational harm and potential financial loss to all parties involved. In my case, these issues have already begun to impact the credibility and commercial viability of ongoing work.

From a professional and legal standpoint, this raises concerns regarding negligence in safeguarding user-generated professional data. As a paid service provider, IMDbPro has a reasonable duty of care to ensure that its systems include adequate protections against unauthorised access and manipulation. The current structure appears insufficient to prevent misuse by individuals who may exploit open editing permissions.

I strongly urge your team to review and implement stricter access controls, such as:

  • Restricting editing permissions to verified or designated members of a project
  • Introducing approval workflows for any changes made to company-owned listings
  • Enhancing authentication and audit tracking for edits
  • Providing account holders with immediate notifications and dispute resolution tools for unauthorised changes

At present, the absence of these protections creates an environment where bad actors can interfere with professional work with little accountability. This is not only damaging to individual users but undermines trust in the platform as a whole.

I request a prompt investigation into this matter, along with a detailed response outlining what steps will be taken to address these vulnerabilities and prevent further harm.

I trust you will treat this issue with the seriousness it warrants.

Yours faithfully,Tempast Wulf Ascendant Studios
