Solved

My contribution has been declined repeatedly, even though I was fully involved in this credit

Hello community,

IMDb keeps declining my submission for - Not meeting contribution guidelines, although I was adding several similar credits exactly in the same way that were approved in the past, and I also know several composers who have done the same without any issues, with their credits never being declined.

I've provided IMDb with links to the official film trailer which my music featured in and also, I provided IMDb with links of that track published by APM/Sony Music, Sonoton Music and Spotify which all show that it is my music 100%, yet nothing seems to convince IMDb!

Additionally, I uploaded the company's royalty statement, which shows that the synchronization of my track was purchased by the production agency for that film trailer, yet IMDb is still not satisfied!

Is there someone at IMDb I can speak to in order to claim this credit and explain that several composers I personally know have claimed similar or identical credits in exactly the same way, which were approved without any issues?

Does an IMDb-Pro account resolve this kind of issue?

Many thanks!

Hello gurvitz,

I have checked on the submission of the credit, this is a credit that is not eligible to be listed on the site as mentioned in the Adding Filmography credits guidelines:

"There are certain types of credits that we do not list unless specifically credited on-screen: these include work on:

Non-theatrical versions (e.g. DVD authoring, supplemental materials, captioning, trailer work etc.)"

In this case you can only add the credit if credited on the official onscreen end credits.

Hello Fran,

Thank you for the information!

Trailers are usually screened in the theater! However, no credits written on-screen are allowed according to your updated policies?

Because you did accept trailer works a few years ago and some composers I work with still have many trailer-work credits listed on their IMDb page.

I'll check IMDbPro.

Many thanks! All the very best,

agurvitz.
