My goof was declined

I never got an email. That seems weird. I got an automatic email when I submitted the goof so why in the world would I not get one when a decision was made? So their reply was Reason: Does not meet contribution guidelines. Your contribution has been declined. Please review our submission guidelines.-- with a link to the submission guidelines. I clicked on that link and there is an encyclopedia's worth of information to read. Since we the people are here powering this IMDB machine and THEY know the exact reason why it was declined, why would they give us the task of finding out the reason when they could just tell us? Reason #48,792: blah blah blah blah blah. Why do they leave it to us to do the detective work? How bout we all just quit contributing to this and see how they like that? Because I have ZERO motivation to spend MY TIME digging through all that info to find an answer so I can "correct the issue". Fix your own website yourself. so annoying.

Hi roso- In order for our staff to further review, can you provide us with the 18-digit submission reference number for this declined goof contribution? You will find it under your Contribution History or on the receipt email when you made the contribution. Cheers!

Hello roso, I have checked on the submission and you have added two goofs in one contribution, which is not allowed, if there two goofs to submit, you have to submit two submissions. You can re submit anytime the goofs separate.

Ah ok. TYVM!!! Why couldn't they tell me that in the original message? I mean if they are able to detect that it does not meet guidelines, it should be able to say exactly what the reason was.

You can take a look at our Help guides for more detailed information about our rejection reasons: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/when-will-my-update-be-added/GEKS9SBHDEHBAVC7?ref_=helpsrall#

Did you ever get my goof submission for The First Omen? I never got a receipt. The updates History page is confusing. What is the difference between Saved updates and Submitted Updates? Why is there a big blue button that says Track Contributions on some but not others? What is a "track". Why is there a Delete Selected button under my Saved Updates? Thanks.

Saved Updates are contributions that were no finally submitted to us, therefore the Contribution page will save it for you to continue working on the submission and submit when wanted. Submitted updates are submissions sent to IMDb already. The delete option is for you to remove the submitted contribution from the Contribution History page. I could not find a Goof submission for The First Omen in your Contribution History page. You can re submit anytime.
