Solved

My Submission for chaning the plot outline of a movie has been denied for no apparent reason

If anyone from imdb support is looking at this, this is the submission: #250102-224006-929000 It is for the movie Broadcast News. The current plot outline is not good, in my opinion, I tried writting my own and the response I got was just "Does not meet contribution guidelines." I've looked the contribution guidelines ten times over and I'm 100% sure that it meets all of them. I'm not writting this to get my outline instead of the one that's currently there, but I would just like if IMDb provided some more information instead of the generic "Does not meet contribution guidelines" because that's clearly not it. If it due do the perception that my contribution is worse than the outline that's currently on the site I would like to know that, I would like to know anything instead of just getting a default response that clearly doesn't match my case. Thank you.

Hello MatthewMore, The reason why it was rejected is that you are using the word "Producers", which is not allowed on Plots, you can re word your correction and re submit anytime!

The plot outline uses the word "producer" because the main character is a producer... But okay, I'll try rewording it.

Also this is the current outline: "Two television network reporters - one smart but insecure, the other less knowledgeable but more telegenic - compete for the friendship, respect and romantic interest of a hard-driven, neurotic female producer." It literally also uses the word producer in the same context. I'll resubmit my change again, hope it will get a more thorough read.

@Fran The cited rejection reason is "Does not meet contribution guidelines", but the reason you give is not in the guidelines. If it is an actual rule, you could ask to have it added to the guidelines. I can understand flagging contributions with certain words to have them double checked by staff, but banning a word like this seems bizarre.

@Peter_pbn I agree, I assumed the word "producer" was just flagged, and nobody read my submission to see the actual context so it was automatically denied because I guess the word "producer" implies that I named the producer of the actual film in the outline...

If anyone sees this, I would like to know why has this been marked as "Solved" when it clearly wasn't.
