Name Split: Edward E. Rose & Edward Rose

I just submitted a name split for these two authors (contribution #250414-212937-841000). The name split thing doesn't give me the option to separate the writer credits, though. Both people are only known for being authors. Anyway, I explained everything in my submission, but experience has taught me that those contributions tend to be rarely read by any living and thinking person, so I'm creating this post to make sure somebody with a brain actually looks at the issue. Here's what I wrote [quote]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Everett_Rose https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Rose There are two different authors with the name Edward Rose who both were primarily known for adapting novels into plays. However, one of them was Canadian-American and the other was British; they both have separate Wikipedia pages. Edward Everett Rose was the Canadian-American one (born 1862), who generally used his middle initial (Edward E. Rose). Edward Rose (born 1849 in England) did not use any initials. He is the one who wrote the adaptation of The Prisoner of Zenda, not Edward E. Rose. The titles with the attribute "as Edward Rose" should be moved to a new name page. There is already a Rose, Edward (I) page on IMDb, but it only has two uncredited actor roles from long after the author's death; therefore, a new name page should be created. [end quote] The contribution form shows a "WRITER EDIT" for every single writing credit in Edward E. Rose's filmography (nm0741358). This is not what I wanted to do at all!!! Only a portion of those credits need to be moved to a new page. The rest should be left where they are. The ones that I know for sure need to be moved are: - English Nell (1900) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2035499/ - The Prisoner of Zenda (1915) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0005931/ - Under the Red Robe (1915) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348278/ - The Prisoner of Zenda (1922) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0013515/ - Under the Red Robe (1937) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029712/ - The Prisoner of Zenda (1937) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029442/ - The Prisoner of Zenda (1952) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045053/ The only credits that should be moved are the ones belonging to the British Edward Rose. The rest should stay where they are.

Hi majfoalbkeopaza- Thank you for posting all of this information! Further reviewing, I have created a new page for Edward Rose (British) as you mentioned that Rose, Edward (I) is not the correct page either. I have moved the credits from your contribution to this new page instead and the changes are now live on the site: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm17218479/ Cheers!

Hello, Maya. One of the credits, The Prisoner of Zenda (1922) (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0013515/) was not switched like it was supposed to. It still attributes it to the Canadian-American Edward E. Rose. On an unrelated note, I tried to make a correction to https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0442820 (Notes on the Port of St. Francis) and part of it came back as unable to verify. Robert Louis Stevenson's writing credit should say "essay" instead of "poem". The narration comes from his essay "A Modern Cosmopolis", which is not a poem. Contribution #250416-064948-972000 P.S. I added basic biographical information to the British Edward Rose's page, which should hopefully help prevent any further confusion. At least it should prevent any future contributor from mistakenly trying to do a name merge.

@majfoalbkeopaza- Hi, Apologies for that, this credit has now been switched to the correct name page. As per the contribution, the attribute has now been corrected as well for Robert Louis Stevenson's credit. The changes will be live on the site shortly.
