New actor

Hi. I am Ziandrea Matthews and I recently had received my IMDB credit to my name for the first time, from a creator/director from a movie I was in. I was a background extra in this creator's film and I wanted to know how important that is to have that IMDB credit in this industry? I'm pretty unfamiliar with how work. I want to go into reality and documentaries about life situations as well, and getting into this movie production was a way for me to get some credit to my resume in the film industry.
