Please block potential re-adding of incorrect credit
Until recently, the actor Robert Llewellyn (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0515753/ - can we not link to text anymore?) was incorrectly credited on IMDb with an appearance in the 1979 pilot episode of "Not the Nine O'Clock News" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6095260/). This was inaccurate, for the following reasons:
* His autobiography “The Man In The Rubber Mask” makes no reference to this supposed television appearance (which would be a standout, as the programme became a very high-profile success after the pilot), and instead he writes that his “first ever experience of working in television” was working on a Channel 4 show (Channel 4 was launched in 1982). In another interview he asserts that it is this programme, which was aired in 1983: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29712170/
* The IMDb listing claimed he was appearing under a pseudonym, that of “Rhoddie Llewellyn”. That name appears in the credits, as part of a series of joke credits, including a number of other fictitious performers, named “Pietar Rhoodie”, “Jan Rhoodie”, “Boaz Rhoodie”, and “Arnold Rhoodie”, apparently as part of a joke related to the so-called “Muldergate”, a scandal involving the South African government and a civil servant named Eschel Rhoodie (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muldergate). Roddy Llewellyn, a British baronet who had an affair with Princess Margaret, is mentioned in the episode earlier in a satirical context, and I think this name is then included as an extra joke. In the credits the fictitious “Rhoodie” performer names are all placed in a block. After a significantly gap these are then followed by the actual performers, including Rowan Atkinson, Chris Emmett and Chris Langham, although using pseudo-Afrikaans language pseudonyms (“Van” is inserted as a middle name). The pilot can be viewed here, with the credits at around the 29-minute mark: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8c9ana
* The IMDb listing cited him as providing the voice of the Bob Hope puppet at 11:00 into the pilot, which does not sound anything like Llewellyn, whose most famous television role (in "Red Dwarf") is played with a North American accent and sounds very distinctly different, even allowing for the idea that he may have been putting on a slightly different accent.
In light of this, I have managed to get the credit removed. However, a lot of other websites are now asserting that Llewellyn made this appearance in the pilot (having taken the IMDb listing as gospel), and my concern is that another (well-meaning) contributor will come across one of these sources and try to re-add it.
With that in mind, is it possible to please put a block on that credit being re-submitted? Many thanks.
