Producer order in film credits
Hi Team IMDB.
I can see from someone else's question a few months ago (and the IMDB response) that all types of producers are just listed alphabetically under Producers in the Crew section, and it's only Writers and Cast that can be reordered apparently. Could I please ask the Moderators to look at this policy?
Producer credits are hotly contested and having a lead Producer being way down the list under Execs and Associate Producers just because their last name is further down the alphabet is (a) a bit unfair and (b) really loses the impact and understanding of what Producers actually do. Or perhaps there should be a separate section for Executive / Associate / Co- etc producers or something? Producer credits are usually in a legally contracted order on the films (end roller / front titles / poster billing block etc etc) in exactly the same way the Cast and Writer/s are. Please could this alphabetical practice be reviewed and some kind of solution provided? Films don't get made without producers, it would be great if the world's largest movie database reflected this!
Many thanks.
