Production department (again)

Hello,

I know this has been brought up again and again, but can there be a category for Production? We are the central nervous system for shows and that we just get swept into Miscellaneous is frankly insulting. Production Management would not be the same. I feel like this would be for UPM's and maybe supervisors?
But Production Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Production Secretaries, Office Production Assistants and Travel Coordinators, in my humble opinion, deserve a category of our own.

Thanks for your time!

Couldn't agree more! I was actually just searching through IMDb, looking for an outlet to voice this frustration, and found your post.

My frustration actually extends beyond just the relegation of Production to "additional crew", as there are a few depts. and positions that get swept up into that category, undeservingly so.

Production

Accounting/Payroll

Studio Executives

Security

I could go on.

"Additional Crew" acts as a catch all for all of the departments that are deemed "unimportant", and is quite frankly unacceptable.

Thank you for re-raising this suggestion. We have passed it on to the relevant team for consideration.

Hello

I really appreciate you posting this... (again).  I have also raised this point on several occasions and to no avail.

It is quite ridiculous and insulting that as the hub of the "Production" we are listed under miscellaneous crew.  Why could we not be included in the Production Management section.  I find it particularly odd that the Transport Department were deemed worthy of their own category and yet the studios do not allow them to have credits.  Most are only employed for the shoot whereas we are on board from early prep to the end of wrap.

I implore you to give this your due consideration.

Ever hopeful

In addition... it would be interesting to know why the IMDB doesn't follow the Crew List template as surely that is the industry standard.
