Production department deserves own section, we are not Miscellaneous Crew!

I know this has been raised before, but with not much response nothing has changed. I have been told that as long as there is enough users to vote on the idea, IMDB will consider the change - so please help me spread the word.Seeing a recent addition of "Script & Continuity Department", I would like to hope that IMDB will recognise Production Department with their own section as well. Production Team is the most central part of every single production, without whom no production would take place, and we request to be given the recognition we deserve. We are here months before and often months after any other department, we are the ones to send all information and make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time, we are the ones everyone contacts to solve their problems, we set up the entire structure to make principal photography possible. We are the most integral part of any production, with our own structure and hierarchy - we are not and should not be listed as "Miscellaneous Crew”.There is over 800,000 production staff credited under "Miscellaneous Crew":If even 1% of us voted on the idea, it would be the most overwhelming response, which IMDB would not be able to ignore!

Oh my goodness, HOW MANY TIMES have I submitted this very complaint to IMDB - for years and years and years. I also advocated for the Script Supervisor, Locations, and Accounting as well. 2 down, 2 to go. Thanks for this!

Now that Amazon owns IMDB they should really review it with their production teams. There are a lot of updates that need to be made. There are so many jobs within production. Accounting, coordinators, etc. This should be a category.

Amazon has owned IMDb for over two decades. Doesn't that mean that "they" had a long time to "review" it yet didn't? That is a long time for a question to compound, and as we know, a stitch in time saves nine.

Agree 100%. Transport now have their own category. I have communicated with IMDB on several occasions. It’s utter madness!!

The Production Department is the backbone of any film or TV project and deserves its own dedicated section on IMDb. With clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and a vital presence throughout the production timeline, it's inaccurate and unfair to categorize these professionals as "Miscellaneous Crew." Recognizing the Production Department with a separate section would acknowledge their essential contributions and provide the clarity and respect long overdue. Let's support this change and push for proper recognition on IMDb.

As far as I'm aware, a "Production Management" section has now been created? Example: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10548174/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_ov_3#production_manager

@alessandro_riconda: The Production Management section has been around for quite a while now. As you can see here: https://web.archive.org/web/20180527134839/https://www.imdb.com/pressroom/stats/, it already had over a million credits in 2018.

Not sure if you noticed this, but I think the "Production Management" section has been created now. Check out this film as an example, it has a Production Management section: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10548174/fullcredits/
