Purple Items Won't Turn Green

Please check my saved update #250529-105038-204200. I wanted to make a correction to one of the 'Books About This Person' for Charlie Chaplin, and when I got to the book list, 4 items had the purple color, indicating a problem. I marked the 4 books for deletion, with the required explanation, and added a resubmit form for each of them. But when I click the 'Recheck These Updates" link, nothing happens; these 4 items stay purple, and the updates don't go through. Could this be a bug?
