Solved

Re: incorrect credit I tried to delete from my contribution but will not go away

I accidentally put an incorrect credit on one (not yet completed) show on Thursday July 24th, then I tried to correct it that same day by deleting it. After about 10 minutes or so, it was finally gone. And it was so for the next few days. But today (July 28th), it popped back up again for some reason. I have not been online since Thursday so I do not know how this could even have happened at all. I am trying to delete it again, but it does not seem to be going away. It is very frustrating that there is no way to call IMDB staff to report this issue directly. If any staff can help me now it would be good. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem here too. Made a typo error credit five days ago (July 24th) for a yet incomplete show, and then I tried to delete it (which took 10 minutes - long enough), and then it finally vanished. I thought that was the end of it. But today (July 28th) it pops back up again, funnily enough; and I haven't been on IMDB since Thursday. So I log back in again and I try to delete it. It's been almost two hours now and it hasn't gone away - it is still "pending". It's so frustrating because there's no phone service in IMDB. I have a funny feeling they may be run by AI bots.

Hello Maya Thank you for your email. I have gone to the link you sent above and submitted an email request there. Can I just send you the reference number here if that works?

Hello Maya, Here is the reference number: 250728-163818-473000 It has been almost two hours and it is still "pending" as of this time. Can you please expedite this and find out what is going on?

@HealTheWorld- Thank you! Taking a look, depending on several factors submissions might take more time to be process. Now, as it stil pending processing, we cannot provide support until an outcome has been reached during processing. You can keep a look at the link posted above regarding the Data Processing Times. If your credit contribution happens to be declined after processing, you can let us know.

@Maya This shouldn't take so long to process. As the co-creator of the production, I know if a credit is correct or incorrect; if a credit is incorrect, and I correct it on IMDB by deleting it like I have done, I expect it to be done immediately. BTW, this is not the first time I have deleted this credit. I removed it on Thursday July 24th (reference number: 250724-164544-301000 ) and put in the correct credit instead; and that was approved (it only took all of 10 minutes then), so by rights, the incorrect credit should NOT have reappeared. I had not logged into IMDB since July 24th so I do not know how this even happened. I am pretty sure it is a software glitch on your end given the circumstances. Is there no way you can remove it at once?

@Maya Surely you can hurry up with the processing can you not? Why is the processing taking so damn long? Will I literally have to wait days before anything (if at all)? Are you a bot, btw?

@Maya I have a feeling you are a bot. Like all bots who run such sites as Google and Amazon. You can't even expedite something simple like this which even Wikipedia (for being not trustworthy in its information) can expedite faster than you. I won't trust you again. NOTE TO ALL FELLOW USERS OUT THERE: Beware of whoever is running IMDB, they might well be bots, they talk like bots, they help customers like bots, they can't even expedite what would normally be simple requests (again like bots).

@HealTheWorld- This has been approved and the changes will be live on the site shortly. Just to clarify, we are not bots. As mentioned above, depending on several factors submissions might take longer to be processed which is why we recommend to keep an eye on the Data Processing's page to follow all the backlogged and/or current data that is being process.
