Reference number

I was asked to provide more proof for the post by reloading the same using the reference number in the Contribution History page. Still, when I enter the number received from the Contribution confirmation mail, which is like #xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx, it shows the incorrect reference number error. I tried adding the prefix #, but it did not work.
