Request for Assistance with Repeatedly Declined Cast and Crew Corrections

Submission reference: #261101-120544-211319

Hello IMDb Support, I am reaching out for assistance regarding several cast and crew corrections that have repeatedly been declined.

I am the original writer and director of RIP CAGE, a film project that began production in 2005 but, due to various circumstances, was never completed or released.

Nearly 20 years later, we have finally been given the opportunity to revisit the project and bring it to completion.

Production is now progressing well, but it is important to clarify that this is essentially a new production rather than a continuation of the original filming process.

We are working with an entirely new crew and a substantially new cast.

Apart from the title, the underlying story, and a very limited amount of original footage, virtually everything is being recreated from scratch. This means that the existing cast and crew credits from the original production no longer accurately represent the film currently being produced.

None of the original crew members are involved in the new production, and only footage featuring one of the original actors is expected to be retained. No original cast members will be returning to reprise their roles.

However, we fully intend to acknowledge everyone who contributed to the original project.

All original cast and crew members will receive a Special Thanks credit in the completed 2027 film, recognizing their involvement in the earlier production.

Unfortunately, my attempts to update the IMDb credits to reflect these changes have repeatedly been declined.

I completely understand IMDb's need to verify submitted information and maintain accurate records. However, this situation is somewhat unusual, as we are effectively rebuilding a film that was never completed or released in the first place.

As the original writer and director, and the person currently overseeing the new production, I am in a position to confirm these changes directly.

To provide supporting information, we have also restored the original production company's website, which had been inactive since the company ceased operations in 2008. We reacquired the domain specifically to establish an official online presence for the revived project, and the website now explains the circumstances surrounding the new production. At present, this is the most direct publicly available documentation we can provide.

I would therefore appreciate your guidance on how we can have these corrections reviewed and approved, and what additional documentation IMDb would consider sufficient to verify the changes. Our intention is simply to ensure that the IMDb listing accurately reflects the film that is actually being produced, while properly acknowledging everyone who contributed to its original development.

Thank you for your time, understanding, and assistance.

Kind regards,

Lennie Overgaard

Writer & Director of RIP CAGE
