Request for Reconsideration of Contributor Privileges
Dear IMDb Support,
I am writing to respectfully request a reconsideration of the decision to remove my contributor privileges.
I now understand that one of my image submissions may have violated IMDb's policies. However, I was genuinely unaware that the image was not acceptable at the time I submitted it. I did not receive any notification when my contributor privileges were removed, and I only became aware of the issue after contacting support myself.
I have been contributing to IMDb for a few years now and have uploaded hundreds of images in good faith plus other contributions. Throughout that time, I have always tried to follow IMDb's guidelines (but sometimes just forgotten which I apologize) and contribute positively to the database.
The image in question was an official movie poster, and I had seen other versions of the exact same artwork already accepted on IMDb. Because of that, I had no reason to believe that my submission would violate any policy.
If I made a mistake, I sincerely apologize. It was never my intention to break the rules.
I also hope you will consider my overall contribution history. I believe it would be unfortunate if this mistake outweighed years of constructive contributions and prevented me from continuing to submit accurate and valuable updates to IMDb.
I would be very grateful if my case could be reviewed once more. If restoring my contributor privileges is not possible, I would at least appreciate a clearer explanation why sometimes similar images with the same artwork are have been approved in a few cases now, and whether there is any possibility of regaining contributor privileges in the future.
If this is not the appropriate team to handle requests of this kind, could you please let me know who is? If there is another department or team responsible for reviewing contributor privilege decisions, I would appreciate being directed to the appropriate contact rather than simply being told that support cannot assist and end the discussion.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
