Solved

Ronald K. Nomura

If you type in this name, IMDB will tell you that this person does not exist in the database......BUT....if you go to Star Trek Nemesis, you will find his name and when you click on it there.....his page DOES pop up. How can this be? How can this be corrected?

Leslie and Maya: I have figured out the problem. Only if you enable "adult" matches will you find this individual in the search results. I don't know whether this is accurate or not, but he does have listed on his page a job in the Transportation Department as a driver, for an adult film, The Passion (1995).

I can assure you that he was and is an adult person. He has been working at Paramount from Paramount to the present.

Leslie: I don't mean an "adult person" as in someone who is over 18 years old. Rather, I'm referring to the fact that people who have done any work on sexually explicit films (referred to by IMDb as the "Adult" genre) will usually not show up in searches on IMDb unless you specifically enable searches for them. If you are searching for someone who has a credit like that and you don't see them listed (see https://www.imdb.com/find/?q=ronald%20k.%20nomura for example), look at the right-hand rail of the screen (when using the desktop version of IMDb). You will see a "More results" section and an "Advanced search" section. Below the "Advanced search" section, there will be a link for "Enable adult matches". Click on that and the previously hidden name will appear.

I did that and there is something wrong with the IMDB site. That is why the team is looking into the problem. As for "Adult", he works at Paramount and his credit is to one of the Star Trek movies. Some kind of link is broken and hopefully IMDB will fix it soon.

@gromit82- Thank you for this, I did miss this yesterday! This name page does have an "Adult" genre film.

@leslie_hoffman- Just as gromit82 expalined above, this person does have an "Adult" genre film within their credits. And as mentioned, "Adult" means films that contain sexually explicit content. You can review our "Adult" genre definition on our Help Guide here: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/genres/GZDRMS6R742JRGAG?ref_=helpsrall#adult Therefore, apologies for this, there is nothing wrong with the site. This is a case where this name is within the "Adult" filter because of that one film, The Passion (1995) and this is why it does not appear within a normal search.

It is not an Adult genre. Please fix his site. I hardly call anything about Star Trek: Nemesis....ADULT of sexually explicit. You try finding Ronald K. Nomura directly from IMDB. There is plenty wrong with this site and IMDB. People- No results found for "ronald k. nomura"

@leslie_hoffman- Star Trek: Nemesis is not the film we are mentioning it has the "Adult" genre. This person also has a credit for a film called, The Passion (1995) which this film is labelled with the "Adult" genre/tag. Since this is the case, this is why the name does not appear in the normal search and will only appear if you enable "Adult" filter.

I have issues with your policies another one if Star Trek: New Voyages or Phase 2 and you allowed them to list it as a TV Show. It was a Fan Film, nothing more and you have allowed them to make these Fan shorts look greater than they were.....so how do you change that from show to film. You also have birthdays wrong. One person who is older than me is listed as being born 7 years younger. How do you correct a birth year?

Dennis Madalone. Born September 29, 1960 Dennis was born September 29, 1954 He probably wrote his own bio as well with the wrong date. This is from Memory-Alpha with the correct birthdate Dennis "Danger" Madalone (born 29 September 1954; age 70)

@leslie_hoffman- In order to submit corrections, the pages have the respective 'Edit page' button. For birthdates, you will have to go to the name page of the person and that is where you will click on 'Edit page' and follow the instructions on the contribution form. I may have been successful on the birth date but I still do not see how to change Star Trek: Phase II from TV Show to Fan Film Star Trek Phase II (2004-2023) Star Trek: New Voyages (original title) Reference View | Change View Unrated 45min Action, Adventure TV Series
